Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul wins Democratic Party’s nod for re-election

Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul on Thursday overwhelmingly won the Democratic Party’s nod to seek a second term.
Hochul won 94% of the delegate vote at the state Democratic convention at Hofstra University and will seek reelection as Gov. Cuomo’s running mate. City Councilman Jumaane Williams (D-Brooklyn ) picked up just 6% of the vote.
“I accept your nomination not just on behalf of myself, but on behalf of every little girl in the state of New York who wants to grow up and be whatever she wants to be,” Hochul told the convention after the vote.
