Governor Kathy Hochul is bringing a new leadership approach and perspective to New York, and bold changes to invest in New York’s future. I am delighted to endorse her candidacy for Governor. Along with our shared goals of achieving climate, reproductive and gender justice and universal childcare, she is committed to a more equitable New York for all. I am heartened that she has embraced the needs of students with disabilities such as dyslexia as well as the need for all our students to be taught to read using evidence based methods consistent with the science of the reading brain,” said Assemblymember Jo Anne Simon. “New York’s students deserve the equitable educational experiences and outcomes to which I know Governor Hochul is committed. As a former teacher of the deaf with dyslexic family members, I know that when we teach our children to read proficiently, we can and will change the world.”
