NEW YORK – Queens Borough President Donovan Richards today announced his endorsement of Governor Kathy Hochul for a full term.

A lifelong resident of Southeast Queens, Borough President Richards previously served as a member of the New York City Council from 2013 to 2020. Since taking office in 2020, Richards has led efforts to revitalize Queens and make it a safer, more affordable place to live, work, and raise a family.

“Queens Borough President Donovan Richards is a community leader and committed public servant who shares my belief that New York cannot succeed unless every community shares in our prosperity,” said Governor Kathy Hochul. “Donovan took office in the midst of a crisis and has worked tirelessly to address key quality-of-life issues ranging from food insecurity to affordable housing. I am proud to earn his endorsement, and look forward to working together to build a brighter future for Queens and our State.”

“It is my honor to endorse Kathy Hochul for governor,” said Borough President Donovan Richards. “Kathy Hochul has proven that she not only is qualified to be the chief executive of New York, but that she cares about the things that matter most to the residents of Queens. Whether it’s creating and preserving affordable housing, expanding our transit options, making sure our schools get increased funding, or ensuring our immigrant communities are not left out of state COVID assistance, Kathy Hochul is listening and she’s getting things done. As the borough president of Queens, we couldn’t be in better hands than with Kathy Hochul.”
