Members of the New York State Assembly Endorse Governor Kathy Hochul’s Campaign
|NEW YORK, NY – Governor Kathy Hochul’s campaign today announced the endorsements of five additional members of the New York State Assembly: Didi Barrett of Hudson, John T. McDonald III of Cohoes, Patricia Fahy of Albany, Carrie Woerner of Round Lake, and Billy Jones of Chateaugay Lake.
“I am honored to have earned the support and endorsements of these five distinguished members of the New York State Assembly,” said Governor Kathy Hochul. “Over the past several months, we’ve worked collaboratively to deliver meaningful results for working families throughout the Capital Region and our state. I look forward to building on our progress to create an economy that gives every New Yorker the opportunity to thrive and succeed.”
Assemblymember Didi Barrett, District 106
“After just three months as governor, Kathy Hochul has completely reset the tone of New York State government, increasing transparency, collaboration and civility. She truly knows and values New York’s diverse communities and rich history all across the state. I am proud to endorse Governor Hochul for a full term and can’t wait to see what we can get done working together.”
Assemblymember John T. McDonald III, District 108
“I am pleased to endorse Kathy Hochul for re-election next year for governor. Kathy has demonstrated she has more than a working knowledge of the issues and concerns of all New Yorkers from one end of the state to the other. Her experience starting at the local level connects her with the everyday issues residents encounter and she takes a commonsense approach to address those issues.
“Most importantly because of her experience in Congress and in business, she understands that consensus building is critical to successful policies and outcomes. It is for these reasons and more that I am proud to join with many of my colleagues here in the Capital Region to support Kathy Hochul for Governor.”
Assemblymember Patricia Fahy, District 109
“I am proud to endorse Governor Kathy Hochul who has shown tremendous leadership in just these last few months in working to reopen schools and the economy, holding firm on mask mandates, and focusing on economic needs for families throughout our state by investing in job growth. I’ve had the opportunity to work with Governor Hochul in her role as Lieutenant Governor. For the six years, I have seen her tireless efforts to learn and champion the needs of each region of the state, continuing to be an outspoken advocate for our challenges with healthcare, and responding to the COVID-19 pandemic, opioid epidemic, gun violence and more. Governor Hochul truly knows and understands the needs of the Capital Region and our State overall, and she is best prepared to move us forward, grow jobs, and grow our economy.”
Assemblymember Carrie Woerner, District 113
“I am pleased to endorse Kathy Hochul for Governor. Uniquely, Kathy Hochul has built an in-depth understanding of the communities and people all across our state. In rural villages, growing suburban towns and small cities, she has spent time in our communities, met with our local leaders, visited schools, farms and businesses, and asked: what do you need to succeed and how can I help? Her background in business and elected office at all levels of government shows in the constructive, collaborative approach Kathy Hochul has demonstrated during her first few months as governor. I am confident that Kathy Hochul will be the balanced, common-sense leader New York State needs and that is why I join my Capital Region colleagues in endorsing Kathy Hochul for Governor.”
Assemblymember Billy Jones, District 115
“Today I announce my support for Governor Kathy Hochul in her bid for reelection as governor of New York State. In my tenure as Assemblyman, I have worked with Governor Hochul on many issues. As a Buffalo native, I know she works to represent all New Yorkers. She has a long tenure of advocacy for upstate New York and her ability to follow through on thoughtful policy will continue to serve her well in this role. I look forward to continuing to work with Governor Hochul to ensure North Country residents, and all New Yorkers, have the resources they need to thrive.”
