NEW YORK – Governor Kathy Hochul’s campaign today announced the endorsement of Long Island Congresswoman Kathleen Rice. Joining Representatives Paul Tonko, Jerry Nadler, Brian Higgins, and Joe Morelle, Congresswoman Rice is the fifth member of the New York State Congressional Delegation to endorse Governor Hochul.

Prior to election to the U.S. House of Representatives, Congresswoman Rice made history by becoming the first woman to serve as District Attorney on Long Island. After her nine-year tenure as the Nassau County DA, she has served in Congress, where she has become a leader on national security and veterans’ issues.

“Congresswoman Kathleen Rice is an incredible public servant with decades of experience and a proven track record of working collaboratively to take on tough problems and get things done,” said Governor Kathy Hochul. “As a former prosecutor, her expertise on public safety has benefitted communities on Long Island and across our nation. I’m honored to have Congresswoman Rice’s support and know that her constituents are well-served with her leadership in the halls of Congress.”

“In her first five months, Kathy Hochul is delivering on her promise to reimagine New York so that it is stronger, safer, and more inclusive. From investing in Long Island’s public schools to combating gun violence, Governor Hochul has proven that she is the right choice to lead New York State. I could not think of a more qualified candidate for governor, and I’m proud to endorse her for a full term.”
