Lee Zeldin Has No Plan to Fund the MTA Long Term
NEW YORK – Not only is Lee Zeldin lying to cover up his far-right record and views, but he is also facing renewed scrutiny for his unserious – or nonexistent – proposals to tackle pressing issues facing New Yorkers.
Case in point: Zeldin’s campaign has not provided any plans thus far to fund the M.T.A. long-term.
The Times Union and The New York Times editorial boards slammed Zeldin over the weekend on his lack of credibility and non-serious policies, stating his campaign “lack[s] a serious interest in the work of governing” and has “an autocratic approach to governance that bodes poorly for a state that needs to function, not be embroiled in the partisan strife and gridlock that we see in Washington, D.C.”
“Once again, Lee Zeldin shows zero understanding of the important issues facing New Yorkers. His so-called proposal to fund a multi-billion dollar budget with less than a half million dollar proposition literally doesn’t add up, and he is hiding behind soundbites,” said Campaign Spokesman Jerrel Harvey. “Just like his lies to cover up his far-right views or his lack of a serious plan to tackle gun violence, Lee Zeldin lacks credibility and he can’t be trusted to lead New York.”
