International Union of Operating Engineers Endorses Kathy Hochul for Governor
|NEW YORK – The International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE) today endorsed Governor Kathy Hochul for a full term, commending the Governor’s support for the rights of working people and her efforts to secure relief for union members impacted by the pandemic. The IUOE represents operating engineers who work as heavy equipment operators and surveyors in the construction industry, stationary engineers, nurses, healthcare workers, a range of public sector employees, and a number of jobs in the petrochemical industry.
“I am honored to have the support of the IUOE, who are deeply committed to advancing the rights of the essential workers building our roads, bridges, and infrastructure projects of the future,” said Governor Kathy Hochul. “Working together, we’ll continue to fight for good-paying union jobs and ensure New York remains a state where union membership is something to be proud of.”
“Governor Hochul continues to exhibit a steadfast commitment and dedication to New York’s union workers and we are proud to endorse her for a full term,” said Tom Callahan, President New York State Conference of Operating Engineers. “The IUOE looks forward to working with Governor Hochul as we continue to look after our hard-working union members, their families, and the State of New York.”
