Former Congresswoman Nita Lowey Endorses Governor Kathy Hochul
NEW YORK – Former Congresswoman Nita Lowey today endorsed Governor Kathy Hochul for a full term, citing her strong leadership and commitment to delivering for working families across New York.
Congresswoman Lowey most recently represented Rockland and Westchester counties and was first elected to the House of Representatives in 1988. Rep. Lowey was the first chairwoman of the House Appropriations Committee and the first woman to chair the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.
“Congresswoman Nita Lowey is a leading voice for women’s rights and one of the many glass ceiling breakers who paved the way for my governorship,” said Governor Kathy Hochul. “During my time in Congress, Representative Lowey and I worked together to deliver results from investing in education to fighting for access to healthcare.
