Congresswoman Grace Meng Endorses Governor Kathy Hochul
NEW YORK – Congresswoman Grace Meng today announced her endorsement of Governor Kathy Hochul for a full term. Representative Meng is the twelfth member of the New York State congressional delegation to endorse the governor, joining Representatives Hakeem Jeffries, Ritchie Torres, Adriano Espaillat, Carolyn Maloney, Sean Patrick Maloney, Gregory Meeks, Kathleen Rice, Paul Tonko, Jerry Nadler, Brian Higgins, and Joe Morelle.
Congresswoman Grace Meng represents New York’s 6th Congressional district in Queens, which includes Bayside, Flushing, Forest Hills, Fresh Meadows, Glendale, Kew Gardens, Maspeth, Middle Village, and Rego Park. Elected to Congress in 2012, Representative Meng is the first and only Asian American congressional member from New York State. Rep. Meng sits on the Committee on Appropriations, is the vice chair of its Subcommittee on State and Foreign Operations and was elected vice chair of the Democratic National Committee in 2016.
“I am honored to receive the endorsement of Congresswoman Grace Meng, a champion for our AAPI communities and a strong voice for working people in Queens,” said Governor Kathy Hochul. “Throughout her career in Congress, Representative Meng has fought tirelessly to expand opportunities for communities of color, young people and women, and secure resources to help local small businesses. I am proud to have Congresswoman Meng standing with me in my campaign for a full term and look forward to working together to build a brighter future for New York.”
“Governor Hochul has spent time in our neighborhoods, she knows our communities, and she has championed groundbreaking efforts to lift us up,” said Congresswoman Grace Meng. “In both times of celebration and hardship, Governor Hochul has stood with Queens families and the AAPI community — fighting for safer streets, stronger schools, and a fairer and more prosperous New York. I am proud to endorse her for a full term.”
