National Institute for Reproductive Health Action Fund PAC Endorses Governor Kathy Hochul and Lieutenant Governor Antonio Delgado

Published: August 17, 2022

NEW YORK – The National Institute for Reproductive Health Action Fund PAC today announced its endorsement of Governor Kathy Hochul and Lieutenant Governor Antonio Delgado for a full term. NIRH Action Fund PAC builds political power for reproductive freedom, helping to elect candidates who stand up for reproductive access and justice and working with elected officials to protect and advance abortion rights.

NIRH Action Fund PAC leadership praised Governor Hochul’s commitment to building a safe harbor for abortion access in New York and investing in direct support for abortion providers.

“New York will not go backward on my watch,” said Governor Kathy Hochul. “We’re protecting abortion rights, investing in reproductive care, and ensuring abortion remains accessible within our borders. I am honored to receive this endorsement and to continue working together with the National Institute for Reproductive Health Action Fund PAC to uphold abortion rights and access for all.”

“Governor Hochul and I are committed to ensuring our state continues to protect abortion rights with everything we’ve got,” said Lieutenant Governor Antonio Delgado. “Without the protections guaranteed by Roe v. Wade, it’s up to us to continue to prioritize abortion access. That’s what we’re committed to in New York and I’m honored to partner in this work with the National Institute for Reproductive Health Action Fund PAC, protecting human rights for generations to come.”

“Governor Hochul has worked hand in hand with New York advocates to ensure that New York will be a place that not only protects the right to abortion but also ensures real access to all reproductive health care — not only for our residents but for those who may travel here for care,” said Andrea Miller, President of the National Institute for Reproductive Health Action Fund PAC. “Her administration has worked to expand the capacity and security of our providers, and she signed crucial legislation expanding insurance coverage for abortion care. By contrast, her opponent is an anti-abortion zealot, who has made it very clear that he does not care about the health and safety of New Yorkers. He has voted in favor of abortion bans and has said that he would appoint an anti-abortion Health Commissioner. I can’t think of anyone more dangerous or out of touch with New Yorkers’ values than Lee Zeldin.”
