Lee Zeldin Votes Against Good-Paying Jobs

Published: July 28, 2022

NEW YORK – Lee Zeldin doubled down on his track record of opposing legislation that benefits New Yorkers by voting against the CHIPS and Science Act of 2022. This bill would grow New York’s economy, bring manufacturing jobs back from overseas, tackle inflation, and create thousands of good-paying jobs — all things that Zeldin is apparently against. Zeldin has consistently proven where he stands as an elected official, and it is never with the people of New York.

“This bipartisan legislation will create thousands of good-paying jobs, lower costs for hardworking families, and end our dependence on foreign manufacturers, so of course Lee Zeldin voted against it,” said Governor Kathy Hochul. “While Zeldin is focused on dragging our state backward, I’m focused on getting things done for New Yorkers. Despite Zeldin’s best efforts, we’ll continue to move New York forward.”

“Right now, we need our elected leaders to be doing everything in their power to lower costs, create jobs, and support working families,” said New York State AFL-CIO President Mario Cilento. “Instead, Lee Zeldin appears to be doing everything in his power to make life harder for the people he represents. New Yorkers deserve better than someone who consistently votes against their best interests. New Yorkers deserve a leader like Governor Hochul, who will always fight for working people.”
