Congressman Hakeem Jeffries Endorses Governor Kathy Hochul
|NEW YORK – Congressman Hakeem Jeffries today endorsed Governor Kathy Hochul for a full term. Representative Jeffries is the eleventh New York State congressional member to endorse the governor, joining Representatives Ritchie Torres, Adriano Espaillat, Carolyn Maloney, Sean Patrick Maloney, Gregory Meeks, Kathleen Rice, Paul Tonko, Jerry Nadler, Brian Higgins, and Joe Morelle.
Congressman Hakeem Jeffries represents New York’s 8th Congressional District, which encompasses neighborhoods in Brooklyn and Southwest Queens. Elected to Congress in 2012, Congressman Jeffries is the fifth highest-ranking Democrat in the House and serves as chairman of the House Democratic Caucus. Representative Jeffries sits on the House Judiciary Committee and the Committee on the Budget and was previously the co-chair of the House Democratic Policy and Communications Committee. Before joining Congress, Rep. Jeffries served as a member of the New York State Assembly for six years.
