Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz Endorses Governor Kathy Hochul’s Campaign

NEW YORK – Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz today announced his endorsement of Governor Kathy Hochul’s campaign for a full term. County Executive Poloncarz praised Governor Hochul’s advocacy for upstate New York and her vision to accelerate New York’s economic recovery. 

“I am honored to receive the endorsement of County Executive Mark Poloncarz, who I have known for many years and whose work on behalf of the people of Erie County has had an immeasurable impact on the region,” said Governor Kathy Hochul. “Mark has ably served as county executive for the past decade and set an example for responsible public service. He was on the frontlines with me during our earliest battles against the pandemic and I look forward to continuing our partnership to build a stronger future for Western New York.”

Mark Poloncarz has served as Erie County executive since 2012, a role in which he has increased investment in county infrastructure and made public spaces more accessible to the Erie community. Executive Poloncarz has consistently balanced the budget while fighting for middle class tax cuts; he has shown a deep commitment to public health in the county from combating the opioid epidemic upstate to holding daily press conferences providing public health information during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
